About Us

Not everyone who stays in luxury hotels are wealthy.  Some of us save and scrape to treat ourselves to luxury stay locations when on vacation.  Four and five star hotels are different from the rest from the soap to the service.  The purpose of this blog is to answer  whether it was worth it.  Was it worth the extra time at work, was it worth forgoing a new pair of Ferragamos or Louboutins?  Obviously, it’s a matter of opinion, and I can only give you my experience.  At the end of the stay, instead of giving you a rating, I will answer one question:

"Was it worth the splurge?"

The first five star hotel I stayed in was the Manderin Oriental, Las Vegas, and it was fantastic.  The staff literally bowed whenever they encountered you.  The hotel has since closed, but it is the standard I have based my hotel stays on.

    That standard is this:
Does the four or five star hotel I’m staying in cater to me and make me feel like I’m the only person in the building?
