Lotte
Seattle, WA
The Hotel
Opened in 2020 and located in Seattle’s downtown business district, the 189-room luxury hotel has convenient freeway access to and from the airport. Located a short distance from Pike’s Place market and the famous Chinatown International District, staying at this hotel puts you within walking distance of many major attractions.
The Room
With king rooms measuring between 400 – 500 square feet, the rooms are stylish, spacious and extremely clean. The heavy marble bathrooms are beautiful and come with one of the largest walk-in showers I’ve seen. My wife didn’t like the water pressure in the shower, but I didn’t have a problem with it. The beds are extremely comfortable with some of the better pillows I’ve had the privilege to lay my head on. If there is a possible negative about the room, it would be that there are a lot mirrors, so if having your reflection staring back at you every time you look over your shoulder is a problem, be warned.
The VVagal Experience
We decided to take a 48-hr. layover in Seattle on our way home from Hawaii. We chose the Lotte because we were interested in what the South Korean luxury brand brought to the table. Upon arrival, the doorman enthusiastically approaches your car ready to help with your luggage. Logistically, you take the elevator to the 16thfloor to check in where the front desk agents are gracious, courteous and affable. We went DOWN to our room on the 11th floor and after a very short walk from the elevator we arrived at our room. I did notice that regardless of where your room is located the walk from the elevator will be short. Unlike a mega-resort, our luggage was brought up shortly after we entered our room. This is one of the rare hotels that the best thing about it is the staff. They aim to please and after the first encounter, they refer to you by your last name for the rest of your stay. They’re so good at what they do, one of the doormen ask us where we were going for breakfast and after we told him, he suggested we would probably like another place better. NOTE: Because our stay was so short we didn’t get the opportunity to eat at its on-site restaurant Charlotte’s which is in the lobby on the 16th floor.
Was it worth the splurge? Absolutely!
