Vdara

Las Vegas, NV

The Hotel

The Forbes four-star Vdara is located in the city center a few hundred feet from the Aria and the Crystal Shoppes.

The Room

Technically the Vdara is an all suite hotel, we chose the basic studio suite on our one night stay. Don't be fooled by the modern exterior, the trip to the room reminded me of government housing, especially the large plain metal doors. Once inside we were not impressed. Although considered contemporary, I thought the room was a little outdated and worn. In fact, I couldn’t believe Forbes considered this a four star hotel. With that being said you do have a tablet to control the important things in the room and a refrigerator for left overs and cold drinks.

The  VVagal  Experience

We stayed here on the last night of a four-night stay because hotel prices skyrocketed when we decided to add an extra night to our trip. Our stay here did not have a great start because we paid for early check-in and when we arrived around 1pm we were told that our room was not ready. When I inquired about the early check-in we paid for, the front desk associate said that paying for early check-in only guarantees the room will be ready by 1pm. This is Vegas, we can find something to do for two hours! At that point, I politely asked the front desk agent to credit the early check-in fee back to my credit card and she obliged.

Was it worth the splurge? Only, if you can get a room for less than $200 per night.  Otherwise, you can stay at the Aria.
